Samuel is an 11 year old 4th grader at an affordable private school called Yesu Mmo in a rural community of Ghana. Children in rural communities are 2 times more likely to not be attending school than students in urban areas. In Samuel's community many people are not formally educated and struggle to earn sustainable income.
Samuel is a calm, yet energetic student who likes football (soccer) and studying math. He is being raised by a kind guardian who adopted him after his mother's death. His father is serving life in prison. Samuel was adopted after his mother's death by a peasant farmer. Between the four adopted children that she cares for and other financial committments, it is difficult to pay the school fee for Samuel. In Ghana, it is not uncommon for people in the community to take responsibility for children who have lost their parents and to financially assist other family members.
Samuel has lost a lot in his short life. Let's not let an education allude him either. For only $172, we can give Samuel a year of education. Let Samuel know he matters by donating today!
