Together with 10 donors we made sure Eveyln's school fee was paid for the 2013-2014 academic school year! Now we are fundraising for her 2014-2015 academic year
Evelyn is a 13 year old Junior High student in the Brong Ahafo region of mid-western Ghana. Children in rural communities like Evelyn's are two times more likely not to attend school than students in urban areas. Many in the community are not formally educated and as a result struggle to earn sustainable income.
Evelyn is a fun and energetic student, who enjoys playing football (soccer). She hopes to be a banker when she grows up and enjoys studying english. She is cared for by both of her parents. Her mother works as a petty trader and her father works in security. They earn a small combined income that makes it difficult to financially support their four children's educations.
Education not only provides better future income opportunities, but also decreases the chances of contracting HIV/AIDS in young girls. Working together we can send Evelyn to school for only $158 and ensure that she is educated for a year!
