Together with 3 donors we made sure Beatrice's school cost was paid for the 2013-2014 academic school year! Now we are fundraising for her 2014-2015 academic year.
Beatrice is a 12 year old in Junior High School in Ghana. She lives in the Brong Ahafo region in mid-western Ghana, near the border of the Ivory Coast. Beatrice lives in a rural community where many people didn't have the opportunity to be formally educated and as a result struggle to earn adequate income. Many garden or harvest crops on small plots of land and farms in order to feed their families. Children in rural communities are two times as likely to be out of school than students in urban areas. Despite such hardships, many families aim to send their children to affordable private schools and Beatrice's family is no different. The public school systems in developing countries are often struggling to provide quality education as they are overcrowded and lack staff accountability. ffordable private schools are becoming increasingly more common and a preferred choice despite the cost.
Beatrice is a calm, but funny student attending Yesu Mmo. She likes studying mathematics and hopes to be able to be a banker when she grows up. She likes Friday worship, the school government and I-C-T laboratory. Beatrice lives with her grandfather. He has limited means to support her and the three other children that he is responsible for. Her mother died and her father has traveled away. It is a struggle for Beatrice's grandfather to support these children.
Together we can make a difference and support Beatrice in her educational pursuits. By raising $189 we can guarantee Beatrice an education for a year. As a girl, education is incredibly meaningful and important for a healthy future. Educated women in African are three times less likely to contract HIV/AIDS, and have a healthier and smaller family. Let Beatrice know that she matters by donating as little as $5 today!
