Together with 10 donors we made sure Abigail's school cost was paid for the 2013-2014 academic school year! Now we are fundraising for Abigail's 2014-2015 academic year
UPDATE: Since being accepted to nKoso in the spring of 2013, Abigail remains in an orphanage that needs financial assistance in order to send her to a good school. The orphanage caretaker's husband passed away in November 2013, leaving her with less financial resources to take care of the children. Please help us guarantee an education for Abigail in the upcoming 2014-2015 academic school year.
Abigail is 6 years old and about to enrolled in Kindergarten 2. She lives in a rural community in mid-western Ghana. Students residing in rural communities like Abigail's are more likely to not be attending school than those students residing in urban areas. As a girl, Abigail is even less likely to have an opportunity to be formally educated.
Abigail's father died and she was left in the care of her ill mother. Her mother was not well enough to care for her daughter and Abigail was brought to live with a guardian who cares for 20 other orphans and children who's parents were unable to take care of them. Abigail is a shy student who wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She likes the School of Cultural Activity and enjoys playing and dancing Adoa (also Adowa), a traditional Ghanaian dance.
Her guardian wants to give Abigail the quality education a private school can better provide. Abigail's tuition fee includes the cost to attend school ($115) as well the cost for text books/stationary ($42), exercise books ($8), school uniform with footwear ($50), school lunch/bus transportation ($166) cost for the year. Her guardian's compassion and commitment to the needy children of her village is commendable. Let's help her in her mission to educate Abigail!
