Patricia is 11 years old and still in the 2nd grade in a rural community in Ghana. It's not uncommon for students to be delayed in academic advancement because their families weren't able to pay school tuition on a number of occasions. Of the 72 million primary school-age children that aren't in school about half of them reside in Sub-Saharan African countries like Ghana. Parents in developing countries are increasingly disappointed in the public school systems and prefer to send their children to affordable private schools like Yesu Mmo. Patricia is no exception.
Patricia's parents are dead and she lives with a guardian who cares for 20 other orphans and children who's parents were unable to take care of them. Her grandmother brought her to the small orphanage when she was not able to provide for her granddaughter. Patricia is an energetic student who likes learning, especially in her Religious and Moral Education class. She enjoys playing football (soccer) and hopes to be a professional footballer when she is grows up.
Patricia is currently enrolled in a public school, but her guardian believes that an affordable private school would offer Patricia a better education. Together we can make this possible. Patricia's tuition fee includes the cost to attend school ($154) as well the cost for text books/stationary ($42), exercise books ($8), school uniform with footwear ($50), school lunch/bus transportation ($166) cost for the year. Her guardian's compassion and commitment to the needy children of her village is commendable. Let's help her provide quality education to Patricia!
