Together with 6 donors we made sure Comfort's school fee was paid for the 2013-2014 academic school year! Now we are fundraising for Comfort's 2014-2015 academic year
Comfort is a 10 year old student in 4th grade. She lives in a rural community in the Brong Ahafo region of mid-western Ghana. School-age children in rural communities are two times less likely to be attending school than those students in urban areas. Many people in Comfort's community are not educated and provide for their families by peasant farming.
Comfort is described by those who know her as respectful, smart, and outgoing. She enjoys playing sports, studying English, and hopes to be a nurse when she grows up. Her mother cares for Comfort and her two siblings. Comfort's father passed away three years ago making her mother the sole provider. She supports the family by farming, but finds it difficult to meet the needs of her children due to a minimal income.
African women that are educated earn 25% more income, are less likely to contract HIV/AIDS, and more likely to have smaller and healthier families. Comfort's mother is struggling as a single parent with unreliable income. Contribute to her education and let this family know that you support them!
