Together with 2 donors we made sure Esther's school cost was paid for the 2013-2014 academic school year! Now we are fundraising for her 2014-2015 academic year
Esther is 11 years old and in the 6th grade. She lives in a small community in the Brong Ahafo region of mid-western Ghana. Children in Sub-Saharan African countries are at great risk for not completing school, and as a girl, education is important for Esther's future. Educated women in Africa are less likely to contract HIV/AIDS, more likely to have smaller and healthier families, and earn 25% more income.
Esther is a smart, funny student who enjoys studying math. When she grows up she wants to be a teacher. She is being raised by a family friend because neither parent is present. Her guardian works as a petty trader to provide for 3 children, including Esther. Her income is not substantial or consistent, and her profit is not enough to adequately provide for all three children.
Education offers opportunities. Receiving an education will make a big difference in Esther’s life. Working together we can pay $158 for Esther's annual school tuition. Let's show Esther that we support her!
