Together with 1 donor we made sure Eunice's school fee was paid for the 2013-2014 academic school year! Now we are fundraising for Eunice's 2014-2015 academic year
Eunice is 7 years old and in primary school. She attends an affordable private school in the Brong Ahafo region in mid-western Ghana. Many parents/guardians in Ghana and other developing countries prefer the affordable private school model to the public schools because they believe that their students are getting a better education. Public schools, while not incurring a tuition cost, do have hidden fees that can be nearly as costly as low-fee private school tuition costs.
Eunice is a cheerful and energetic student attending a school called St. Cecilia Educational Centre in a rural community. Eunice enjoys studying math and wants to be a nurse when she grows up. She likes playing games with her friends, and enjoys listening to comedians like Agya Koo. She is fortunate to be in school, as students in rural communities are less likely to attend school than students living in urban areas. Eunice's parents are responsible for 4 children and make a small income by peasant farming. Her father is in poor health, so her mother must financially support the whole family by herself. The family's income is not reliable and her parents have a difficult time providing for their children education.
An education for a girl in Africa means a lesser likelihood of contracting HIV/AIDS and a smaller, healthier family. Together we can make a difference to this family and ensure that Jemima will continue to receive an education at St. Cecilia Educational Centre. Let's come together to raise $123 so Eunice can enhance her future!
