2014 2015 thankyou kelvinkyereh

Age: 13

School: Yesu Mmo

Together with generous donors we made sure Kelvin's school cost was paid for the 2013-2014 and 2014-2015 academic school years! Now we are fundraising for his 2015-2016 academic year.

Kelvin is 13 years old and in Junior High School in Ghana. Children in Sub-Saharan countries like Ghana are less likely to complete school. One in six children leave school before the 2nd grade. Kelvin lives in a rural community in the Brong Afaho region in mid-western Ghana. Rural communities are home to two times as many children that aren't in school than urban communities. In his community it is hard to maintain a steady job without an education and many people struggle to make ends meet.

Kelvin's father is currently jobless and so his mother is responsible for financially providing for Kelvin and his two siblings. She works as a street vendor, selling food she has prepared, to people passing by. Her income isn't substantial or reliable. Despite their hardships, Kelvin's family is determined to provide a quality education for their son in hope that he can create a brighter future. Kelvin attends an affordable private school called Yesu Mmo. His parents prefer Yesu Mmo to the public schools because despite being "free", public schools still incur a number of substantial fees that are taxing on the family. Kelvin's family believes that Yesu Mmo will provide a better education.

Kelvin enjoys school, especially learning English. He says he wants to be a mechanical engineer when he grows up and he likes to play football (soccer) for fun. Kelvin's family is struggling to provide him with a quality education. We can make a difference to the family with just $158. Let Kelvin know that you support his future dreams by donating today!
