Together with generous donors we made sure Millicent's school cost was paid for the 2013-2014 academic school year and the 2014-2015 academic school year! Now we are fundraising for her 2015-2016 academic year.

Millicent is a 13 year old student entering the 7th grade. She lives in a rural community in the Brong Ahafo region of mid-western Ghana. School-age children in rural communities are two times less likely to be attending school than those students in urban areas. Many people in Millicent's community are not educated and provide for their families by peasant farming.

Millicent is a smart student who enjoys studying English and Integrated Science. She hopes to be a nurse when she grows up and she likes to play Ampe, a popular children's game in Ghana. Her mother cares for Millicent and her sibiling. Millicent's father has abandoned the family. Her mother supports her family by farming and working as a petty trader. She finds it difficult to meet the needs of her children due to the inconsistent income. She has struggled as a single parent and finds it difficult to care for her children since her husband left.

African women that are educated earn 25% more income, are less likely to contract HIV/AIDS, and more likely to have smaller and healthier families. Millicent's mother is struggling as a single parent with unreliable income. Contribute to Millicent's education and let this family know that you support them!
