Together with 2 donors we made sure Henrietta's school cost was paid for the 2013-2014 academic school year! Now we are fundraising for her 2014-2015 academic year.
Henrietta will be attending KG 1 this academic school year. She lives in a rural community in the Brong Ahafo region of mid-western Ghana. School-age children in rural communities are two times less likely to be attending school than those students in urban areas. Many people in Henrietta's community are not educated and provide for their families by peasant farming.
Henrietta is a calm, quiet student who enjoys studying English. She hopes to be a singer when she grows up like her idol Grace Ashly, a gospel singer from Ghana. She likes to play Ampe, a popular children's game in her country. Her mother cares for Henrietta and one other sibling. Henrietta's father is no longer in the picture since her parents separation. Her mother supports her family by working as a house maid. She finds it difficult to meet the needs of her children due to the low income. She has struggled as a single parent and finds it difficult to care for her children since her husband left.
African women that are educated earn 25% more income, are less likely to contract HIV/AIDS, and more likely to have smaller and healthier families. Henrietta's mother is struggling as a single parent raising three children on her own. Contribute to Henrietta's education and let this family know that you support them!
